Motion Analysis Laboratory Employee (40 h/week) (M/F/D)

For the MOTUM biomechanical movement analysis lab in the Innsbruck area, we are looking for motivated team members to support our ongoing testing and analysis operations. MOTUM is part of the FIFA Medical Center in Austria and works closely with partners including Sporttherapie Huber & Mair, Praxis Gelenkpunkt, UMIT Tirol (Research Unit for Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Injury Prevention), and Management Center Innsbruck.

Our core focus areas include conducting biomechanical analyses, evaluating and further developing testing procedures to address questions related to:

  • Return to sport/activity
  • Optimization of rehabilitation processes and injury prevention
  • Product development in the fields of extended and virtual reality

 

Key responsibilities

  • Independent execution, evaluation, and reporting of biomechanical assessments (~50%)
  • Supporting the R&D department in internal and externally funded projects, particularly in data engineering and analytics (~50%)
Requirements
  • Completed MSc degree in sports science (focus on biomechanics), sports technology, biomedical engineering, medical informatics, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, Visual 3D, MATLAB)
  • Experience in database development and maintenance, automation, and reporting systems
  • Solid biomechanical knowledge and experience with measurement methods: 3D motion capture (preferably Qualisys), EMG, IMUs, force diagnostics, and pressure/force plates
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills when working with participants (athletes and patients)
  • Good German and English skills
  • Ability to work independently

The gross annual salary for this position is EUR 46,700 (based on a 40-hour week), with the possibility of overpayment depending on qualifications and experience.
