Motion Analysis Laboratory Employee (40 h/week) (M/F/D)

For the MOTUM biomechanical movement analysis laboratory in the Innsbruck area in co-operation with Sporttherapie Huber & Mair, the private practice Gelenkpunkt and the Research Unit Sportmedizin/UMIT Tirol, we are looking for enthusiastic employees for ongoing testing and analysis operations. MOTUM is equipped with high-end biomechanical movement analysis systems on 5 measuring ranges. We are involved in practice and research in the areas of movement and technique analysis in clinical and sports-specific applications. Our focus is on carrying out biomechanical analyses, evaluating and further developing test procedures in order to answer questions in the following areas:

  • Return-to-activity & sports processes
  • Injury prevention and sports orthopaedics
  • Product development in the areas of mixed and virtual reality

Our main focus is on the sports of football and team sports, alpine skiing, running, classic everyday movements such as walking and rehabilitation. Do you have a wide-ranging interest in sport-specific and clinical movement analysis and would you like to play an active role in the daily measurement and analysis of the above-mentioned possibilities?

Prerequisite:
  • Completed university degree (MSc. diploma) in the fields of sports science (specialising in biomechanics/training science), health sciences and technology, medical technology, medical informatics, or a closely related field
  • Sound biomechanical understanding and experience with measurement methods: 3D motion capture, EMG, IMU, force diagnostics, and/or pressure/force plates
  • Programming skills (e.g. MATLAB, Pyhton, OpenSim, Visual 3D) desirable
  • Ability to work in a team, friendly interaction with test subjects (athletes, patients)
  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • Ability to work independently

Internship in the field of applied biomechanics (M/F/D)

MOTUM GmbH & Co KG is looking for a trainee in the field of applied biomechanics and movement analysis for daily operations from 2024. In addition to analyses for athletes and patients, the focus is on return to sports tests, among other things.
Location: MOTUM GmbH & Co KG, Steinbockallee 31, 6063 Rum
Internship duration: At least 3 months for 20 hours per week

Tasks

  • Support and independent execution of analyses in daily test operations and evaluations. (50%)
    • Independent implementation of back-in-action tests
    • Support for marker-based return to sports testing
    • Support with team testing and other analyses
  • Support in data management (20%)
    • Export and supplementation of continuously collected data
  • Literature research from a given pool of topics with a practical component (20%)
    • Short literature review of 5 A4 pages.
    • Independent conception and realisation of a simple test corresponding to the topic.
  • Support in the organisational area (10%)
    • Social media, interview questions, etc.
    • Other topics arising

Prerequisite:
  • Ongoing Master’s programme or almost completed Bachelor’s programme in Sports Science.
  • High level of interest and basic knowledge of biomechanics and training science
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Good IT skills and a willingness to familiarise yourself with new systems (with training, of course)
